Kathy Vreeland – Founder/Director of Reformation Dance Company
Dear Friends of the Dance,
For the last ten years, I proudly served as founder, artistic director, and choreographer for the only professional ballet company in the State of Wyoming, Ballet Wyoming (originally formed as Ballet 7220 in Laramie, Wyoming). My goal was to present a wide range of dance styles, to entertain, and to educate audiences through performances and community outreach. I personally choreographed over 20 original works, including Peter and the Wolf, Little Mermaid, Wizard of Oz, Cinderella, Peter Pan, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Reformation Dance Company takes the experience and community outreach gleaned through those years to catapult the dancers and the audience to a new level with a fresh vision. We will incorporate all types of dance into our performances. We will allow our dancers to choreograph for the company. We will not be considered a “cookie cutter” ballet company that caters to only a certain audience, but will strive to include everyone who has any interest in dance to be a presence at our performances. We will make our dance presentations affordable to everyone and enjoyable to people who have never been exposed to this art form. We will help you to remember what it feels like to dream.
Our dance company is an eclectic group of artists who love dance and performing and are thrilled that that they can do it in Cheyenne! We are letting the world know that there can be world class dance right here in our own backyard.
I invite you to join us on our journey and share in our artistic vision. I promise you will not be disappointed!
Kathleen Vreeland has been named a 2019 Wyoming Arts Council Fellowship Recipient for Performing Arts : Theater and Dance. These fellowships are merit based and are awarded to Wyoming artists based on their submitted portfolio of work that reflects serious and exceptional artistic investigation.
